Photography Training
Helping you become a better photographer
Photography Training for all
Do you have a passion for photography but have an area that you want to improve on? Would you like to learn how to photograph your horse or dog? Do you want to dip your toe into event photography? Are you happy taking photos but unsure how to edit them afterwards? Is Lightroom a source of confusion? Do you want to improve your Photoshop skills?
I offer bespoke 1-2-1 training programs for all levels so you can concentrate on the areas you want to work on. I pride myself on being able to break down skills into easy to understand sections, so allowing even beginners to make great strides into improving their abilities. I’m a strong believer that people learn best through action therefore all my in person sessions are very practical and often out on location.
In addition to 1-2-1 sessions I also run group sessions where content is tailored towards those attending.
Group Training & Workshops
In 2023 I will be aiming to once again offer a number of group workshops. The intended subjects will be:
Dates TBC
Equine portrait portfolio building session. A day with multiple models ridden, in-hand and au-natural. Designed to replicate a normal portrait session so to enhance your portfolio with realistic client images. 1 day – Suitable for photographers with bridge cameras and up who are confident in their operation. This is not designed as an educational workshop although I will offer guidance and assistance as appropriate throughout the day.
Creating Black Background Portraits utilising natural light. To include live models & editing advice in class sessions. 4 hour – Suitable for photographers with DSLRs or equivalent capable of manual exposure.
Photographing Horses – A beginners guide. Aimed at proficient photographers lacking experience of horses. Covering movement of the horse, safety and basic portrait concepts for horses. Suitable for photographers with bridge cameras and up who are confident in their operation. Workshop will focus on photographing horses rather than camera operations.

Kind Words
“Katie is so patient as a teacher and willing to answer even the silliest simple questions. I learnt so much from our private session and can’t wait to book the next.” Sandra
“I spent a whole day training with Katie on a 1-2-1 basis. Being able to experiment with several different equine models has been invaluable. The added critical feedback on my own images taken on the day has seen a vast improvement in my work in a short time. I can honestly recommend the investment in her private sessions.” Jason
