Beautiful portraits provided in digital & printed formats
Covid-19 is causing a challenging period for many businesses including my own. Whilst I am at home and unable to be out photographing clients I am returning to my artistic roots. I have always been creative and enjoy painting and drawing. Due to not having child care during the lockdown period I am limited to working during the evenings only so traditional paintings were not going to be viable for a number of reasons. So instead I have been drawn to digital media. All my pieces are 100% hand created. Every brush stroke, pencil line and shape is individually hand created by myself using photos only for reference, several hours (and more!) go into each piece. I do not use any presets, filters or similar to create them.
Please note for all commissions permission must be obtained from the original photographer for any reference photos. A written copy may be requested and without which I will be unable to accept the commission.
Digital Sketches
Created using the same techniques I use with a normal pencil these black and white sketches are created in the style of a traditional pencil portrait.

Colour Digital Paintings
Using similar techniques to how I paint with gouache paints I create beautiful digital realistic paintings. Many hours go into these portraits with countless thousands of individual brush strokes. Please click on the painting to the left (above on mobile) to view in better detail.

Vexel digital images
A vexel portrait is constructed from a large collection of hand drawn geometric shapes. Similar to a vector image but as created in photoshop there is no scale option hence referred to as a vexel as it is fixed in size.
The Vexel gives a stylised modern look to portraits perfect for the modern house interior or for someone looking for something a bit different for their walls. Depending on your personal preferences the size on the shapes can vary to give a more or less detailed image. Both create beautiful portraits concentrating on the standout elements of the image but there is often a personal preference.
These images can also be perfect for commercial graphics creating a modern fresh alternative look.

Digital Line drawings
A beautiful and simplistic style of image but retaining the important details. An almost cartoon feel to these illustrations similar in style to what you would see in children’s books of old.
