Far too often people talk to me about cameras and how they wish they could take better photos but they cannot afford a good camera. What so many people forget though is it isn’t the camera but the hands operating that create the image the camera just helps and sometimes makes life a bit easier! It is perfectly possible to take a good photo with a cheap camera and to be fair the cameras included on most modern phones can take print quality photos. You only need look at the photo taken by photographer Ben Lowry with his iPhone when Hurricane Sandy hit America which was used on the front cover of Time magazine to see what is possible.

Today I was up bright and early to turn out my horse just as the sun was creeping up above the misty horizon. As soon as I drove up the hill I was immediately gutted that I had left both my DSLRs at home so with nothing to lose my iPhone came out of my pocket and I am rather pleased with the results. I haven’t touched these images at all they are literally straight from the camera but yet they are full of colour and atmosphere.
